52 Lists / Twenty

Joining in with Ema at Made In Hunters and her 52 Lists project.

This week: List the the moments you will always remember

I've been super busy recently so that has been one reason for this very belated blog post but another reason for stalling has been because it has been so hard to think of happy moments that I'll always remember.

When I started thinking of moments, rather than events or days, it brought back the memories of finding out loved ones were critically ill or had passed away. Generally not very nice things to recollect, so I had to think very hard and carefully about this and that is why it has taken such a long time to write.

So here goes with happy moments that I will always remember...

The first time I saw Mr P in the staffroom at Daisy and Tom in Chelsea. He was showing someone his NUS card where he had a ridiculously long curtain hairstyle and looked like ChaChi from Happy Days, instead of his usual TinTin hairdo.
In love.

Sitting on a stool in the kitchen on Christmas morning helping Mum to make pigs-in-blankets. I must have been about 5 or 6 years old.
My ultimate warm fuzzy Christmas feeling.

Walking along our local high street holding onto my Dad's hand when I was about four years old.
I felt safe and loved.

The first time Brina jumped on our bed for a cuddle, the morning after we had picked her up from her rescue home.
We had a new best friend.

Walking across the Golden Jubilee Bridge on the night before the start of the London 2012 Olympics. Feeling extremely proud of my hometown at the start of this special time.

On undergraduate results day - seeing my name and the word 'First' next to it.
It didn't quite make sense, it still doesn't.

Getting a text to tell me that my first goddaughter had been born.
The dawn of a new generation amongst family and friends.

Mr P asking me to marry him on a hill near Edington in Wiltshire.
Five years ago yesterday.

What are the moments that you will always remember? Are they sad, happy or both? x

  1. What a sweet, moving list. I am like you - my moments are a mix. I will have to ponder them for a bit. The first one that came to mind though was seeing two pink lines on a pregnancy test almost 22 years ago - pure joy <3
