52 Lists / Six

Joining in with Ema at Made In Hunters and her 52 Lists project.

This week: Things that make you happy you're alive

Cats - mine and just the random ones I pass in the street that I like to converse with

Fairy Cakes

Red skies at night

Birdsong, especially the blackbird at dusk

Bluebells

Tea from a flask after a long walk (preferably with a slice of fruit cake)

Snuggling on the sofa with my Mum and watching a girls film

The moment when a child says something amazing or does something independently for the first time

Books and illustrations by Shirley Hughes

Time with my godchildren

The sound of church bells

Frosts in winter

London

October - because of the joys of autumn and the anticipation of Christmas

Getting up very early in the morning and pottering when it feels like the rest of the world is still asleep

Picnics with my parents and Mr P

The hill near Edington where we got engaged

Letters and cards from families and friends

Doesn't it feel like all of a sudden the days have got longer?
Have a splendid week! x

  3. Oooh I love this list. Blackbirds are one of my favourites garden birds. And I love London. We are planning a visit this year with the boys. And quite frankly the world would be a poorer place without cake.

    Have a lovely week,

  4. What a wonderful list. Yes, I'd say quite a few of those things would make me happy too, like church bells, Shirley Hughes and bluebells. And cake. Have a great week. x

  7. I LOVE pottering about in the morning when the rest of the universe is snoozing. It makes me feel like the BFG wandering the streets in the witching hour. Except I'm just wandering about at home and it's 6 in the morning. And I'm really really small.
    Loved this list, lots.
